The Grammys were on tonight?

So I caught the last hour of the Grammys. BORING. I hate award shows, they are merely an excuse to show 95% more commercials. But some quick thoughts on the show tonight...

  • Andrea Boccelli and Josh Groban. Was this necessary? I think not.
  • Amy Winehouse making multiple references to her husband who is in prison in her songs. Weird.
  • Is it me or are the musical performances becoming more and more contrived. What was with the Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and John Fogarty trio? Maybe I just don't understand the significance, but it was a big snoozefest for me.
  • I was a bit bummed that Amy Winehouse won Best New Artist. It tends to be a kiss of death. I was hoping that someone I had never heard of would win it so I could get more albums out of the people I did like.
  • Michael Buble won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for Call Me Irresistible. I would call him anything he wanted. RAWR. haha. I do find it slightly amusing because this is probably my least favorite record of his. But it does have some absolutely fantastic tracks.
  • I liked the fact that Justin Timberlake was a no-show. At least I think he was. They panned to every other nominee except him. What a tool.
  • "Before He Cheats" even won a couple awards. I LOVE THAT SONG! There is nothing I love more than an angsty woman getting back at her cheating bum of a man by vandalizing his vehicle!!
That's all I got for now. Maybe I'll think of something clever tomorrow.
